Let your Dreams take Flight to Kuala Lumpur

Let your Dreams take Flight with Us – Air Asia has taken over almost all the airlines, especially in Malaysia these days. Air Asia, no doubt, is a Malaysian low-cost airline and is successfully winning the hearts of people with its services. This post is all about my journey to Kuala Lumpur in Malaysia with my family. With the utmost man-made beauty all around, Kuala Lumpur has lots to offer to its visitors.

Kuala Lumpur Arrival

As already conveyed, we opted to travel by an Air Asia flight, which was available to us at the cheapest rates. After personally experiencing it, no doubt that it has got one of the best services and crew members. Our flight started at around 11:00 PM at night from Delhi and we landed at around 07:00 AM in the morning in Kuala Lumpur. This huge time gap is because of the time zone gap between the two countries; otherwise, it would be a non-stop flight.
It took us approximately 2 hours to complete the completion of checkout procedures and let ourselves stand under the sky of Kuala Lumpur. Before that, we bought a Malaysian SIM card for proper communication among group members and in India for INR 468. Delightful heart and smiling lips were enough to witness our inner joy. The buses were already waiting for their passengers to board. From here, you can buy the ticket to the Bus Terminal in Kuala Lumpur, from where you can further move ahead to your hotel. This ticket will cost you around INR 200. One other option is to buy a combined ticket up to your hotel, costing up to INR 280. This bus will drop you at the location where another transport medium takes you further to your hotel, and the charges of which are included in the bus ticket.

We got our destined bus and loaded it with our luggage. After a ride of approximately half f hour in the bus, we were dropped off at a common point where a Winger was waiting for us to take us to our final destination, which was our stay at ‘Hotel Capitol’. That Winger was not subject to carrying only us, it was providing services like a Coach that carries passengers from multiple hotels located nearby.

Our Stay at Hotel Capitol

It was around 11:00 AM when we were finally at the reception of our destination hotel. Though the check-in time of any hotel is around 2 PM but it is not at all a difficult task if you reach early. This is because they are well aware that the flights to Kuala Lumpur generally arrive early in the morning, and they will provide you with the room as soon as it is free and clean.

Checking into any hotel is not that easy these days. You need to be ready with all your documents, including your identity card, before getting in. After completing the check-in Procedures, we were allotted our rooms. Rooms were quite decent and spacious enough. One plus point of this hotel is its location, which is a boon to visitors in terms of shopping and food.

The famous Berjaya Time Square Mall is just a two-minute walk from this hotel. Low-Yat Plaza Mall is just on the street behind the hotel, and the famous food street ‘Jalan Alor’ is also a short walk away.
Hotel Capitol went high to meet our expectations even after being a standard category hotel. It is the cheapest and best option that costs us around INR 2000 per person. We were quite satisfied with our choice of hotel after having done lots of R&D on Google. A+ from my side to Hotel Capitol.

Exploring the Local Market of Kuala Lumpur

As already mentioned that the location of the hotel is superb, surrounded by all the market areas and malls located within Walking distance. Our evening was well spent exploring the market in Kuala Lumpur. Though it started raining that evening but that proved to be an add-on experience for all of us. Lots of local umbrella vendors suddenly came out of nowhere. Even the umbrellas were quite different in look and feel. It cost us around INR 100 per umbrella. The rain lasted for less than 1 hour, and we had an amazing experience.

Till late at night, we were exploring the market, and still, we were just around the hotel area. Fabulous location, must say. We dried lots of food options. Among hundreds of local vendors and restaurants nearby, there was a food plaza in the basement area of Mall Plaza Low Yat – mostly famous among tech lovers with a wide variety of gadgets at reasonable rates.
Visit to Batu Caves and How to Reach

Our visit to Batu Caves was fun, adventurous, and tiresome all in one. Batu Caves is one of the major tourist attractions in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, and that too free of cost for visitors. A huge statue of lord Murugan, a Hindu Deity, is located outside Batu Caves. And that’s not enough about it without mentioning the series of approximately 270 steps to reach the Temple Cave. Yeah, I did climb that all. J

Early in the morning, when we started for Batu Caves, we headed to a one-by-one monorail station named ‘Bukit Bintang’. We need to change trains from KL Sentral to reach Batu Caves. The cost of a Monorail ticket from Bukit Bintang to KL Sentral is INR 39 per person. The monorail is connected to the KTM Train, for which we need to walk for 5 minutes to KL Sentral station. KTM Train Ticket from KL Sentral to Batu Caves costs us around INR 40.95 per person. Batu Caves is the last stop, and the huge statue of Lord Murugan loudly showcases its visibility from the station itself.
